Ride #51 veloway, Seacliff Hotel, Marino, Hallett Cove to home

I didn’t go for a ride this morning because I didn’t fancy getting blown of my bike! The winds were blowing up to 55 kph and I was not interested in combining cycling and wind surfing. The wind dropped this afternoon so I decided to go for an easy ride. Heading down the veloway to Seacombe Rd then heading over to Brighton Rd and down to the Seacliff Hotel. I figured I could indulge myself and take a crack at the Wheatland St segment on Strava as I had not ridden up this since around my 10th ride ever. My time then was dismal so I felt I should update it ;-)   After looking at the climb while riding down it I selected what I thought would be the right gear to be able to stand up and power back up it.  My selection was a little off as I ended up spinning to much however I did up my recorded time from 1m03s to 40 seconds improving my leaderboard standing substantially.

Except for the head wind, I enjoyed the ride back through Marino and Hallett Cove and arrived home with a relaxing average speed of just over 21 kph. Its a nice little combination ride I could recomend to anyone who doesnt want to do any major climbs.
